Fictions of Every Kind: Blast Off! (Feb 2013)

Fictions of Every Kind: Blast Off!

Welcome to another evening of words and ideas, of speedy story writing, and of drinking lovely Sammy Smith’s beer and pretending it counts as ‘being cultured’. In these dark days of joblessness, wet weather, and corporatisation, nothing appeals to us more than emigrating somewhere more likeable…. like Mars, so pack your jet pack and your spacesuit, your vitamin tablets and your moon boots, and join us as we Blast Off!With readings from:

GARETH DURASOW Gareth Durasow’s poetry has appeared in numerous publications, including Shearsman, The Rialto, The Cadaverine, Polluto, French Literary Review and PANK (U.S.). He teaches drama at Garforth Academy and moonlights as a stunt-double for the novelist David Peace during readings at literature events of ill-repute.

S J BRADLEY S J Bradley is the instigator of Fictions of Every Kind. Her work has appeared in Cutaway Magazine, Even More Tonto Short Stories, and The Cunningham Amendment. In 2011 she was included in Untitled Books’ New Voices section.

Writers’ Open Mic at which short stories, flash fiction, true stories, and excerpts of larger works are all welcome. Please keep your contributions at 7 minutes or under.

+ Music from Leeds electronic maestro QUIP. + Prizes and Games! (You wouldn’t expect anything less)
