Fictions of Every Kind: Ramble (July 2013)

Tuesday July 2nd - Wharf Chambers, £3 entry

Welcome to another evening of thoughts and discussion, of words and ideas, and of getting drunk and pretending it counts as ‘being cultured’. Our guest speakers this month are:

ANNA CHILVERS Anna’s book Falling Through Clouds, published by Bluemoose Books, is “a darkly twisting, erotically charged tale [which] weaves a beguiling spell”. Anna was Watershed Landscape writer in residence in 2012.

MAX DUNBAR Max Dunbar was born in London in 1981. He recently finished a full-length novel and his short fiction has appeared in various print and web journals. He also writes criticism for 3:AM and Butterflies and Wheels. He blogs at http://maxdunbar.wordpress.com/ and tweets athttp://twitter.com/MaxDunbar1.

Watch out for mythical landscapes and maps of the imagination. As usual, there will be social word games and the writers’ open mic, at which flash fiction, short fiction, true stories, and excerpts of larger work are welcome. Please keep your contributions at 7 minutes or under. Music this month comes from ukulele troubadour Look Yonder!

It’s £3 in this month, and please note that Wharf Chambers is a members club so you must be a member, or guest of a member, in order to attend an event here. Joining costs £1 and takes a minimum of 48 hours to take effect. For more info visit www.wharfchambers.org
