Welcome to Fictions of Every Kind: Black Friday, where we invite you to muse upon stock market crashes, gloomy weekends, 30% off sales in your local Curry's, and whatever else you can tenuously fit in with the theme. We're super glad to be bringing two world-class writers to Leeds at this event, in the form of: KIRSTY LOGAN Kirsty is a writer from Scotland, UK, whose debut short story collection The Rental Heart won a Saboteur Award. Her most recent collection, A Portable Shelter, is a collection of linked stories about loss, identity and the purpose of stories, inspired by Scottish folktales. She lives in Glasgow with her fiancee and rescue dog. www.kirstylogan.com TANIA HERSHMAN is the author of two short story collections: My Mother Was An Upright Piano: Fictions (Tangent Books, 2012), and The White Road and Other Stories (Salt, 2008) and co-author of Writing Short Stories: A Writers' & Artists' Companion (Bloomsbury, Dec 2014). Her debut poetry chapbook, which won 2nd prize in the Fool for Poetry competition, is forthcoming in February 2016.
