Monday 27th February 2017, Wharf Chambers, with Lara Williams and Suzannah Evans
19.30 start, £3 entry Lara Williams is a writer based in Manchester. She has had short fiction published by McSweeney's, Litro and various other publications and websites, and her journalism and non-fiction has appeared in the Guardian, NME and the Manchester Evening News. Treats is her debut short story collection. Suzannah Evans is a Sheffield-based poet whose pamphlet Confusion Species won the Poetry Business competition in 2012 and a Northern Writers' Award in 2013. She teaches creative writing workshops all over the place and is currently working on a collection of apocalyptic poems. There will also be songs from the Fictions of Every Kind House Band who, yes, are still accepting suggestions for a permanent name. As ever, there will be a writers' open mic at which flash fiction, short fiction, true stories, and excerpts of larger work, are all welcome. Please keep your contributions within the Fictions ethos of being kind & respectful to other writers, and keep all your contributions under 5 mins. Don't make us ring our bell at you! This event has been made possible using a grant from Wade's Charity. Entry, as ever, is £3.
